My Thoughts Were Racing...

Do you ever lie awake at night with your mind racing with all of the things you have to do?

Don’t you hate that? Or even worse, thinking back on something you wish you’d said, or a situation you would like to go back and change?

It could be something that happened last night … or even last month!

If your mind is racing, you’re living in the future. And if you’re thinking about something that happened last night or last decade, you are living in the past.

Basically, you’re anywhere except where you need to be right now: IN THE PRESENT.

Reflecting on experience is incredibly valuable to help you make better decisions going forward …

But dwelling on your problems is linked with developing anxiety and depression (AND stress eating)

The holiday season (which is almost here!) can get overwhelming and downright stressful, so to help you stay present and actually ENJOY the season, I wanted to share a few things that I personally do to help me stay centered and present.

Here are just a few:

1 - Get in a solid workout
2 - Go outside for a walk – or just find a quiet place outside to sit!
3 - Do something creative
4 - Meditate or do deep breathing for 5 minutes
5 - Read a book for FUN
6 - Listen to some of my favorite music
7 - Perform a random act of kindness for a friend or stranger
8 - Take a nap
9 - Play with your kids or pets
10 - Journal and practice gratitude
All of these activities have the power to bring you back to the present moment and help you to be more mindful going forward.

This is so important year-round … but even more important during the holidays.

Make sure you prioritize some time to unplug and “be here now” – because that’s what the holidays are all about!

Combined with a structured health and fitness program can help you look, feel and survive the holidays. Schedule your complimentary session HERE

Yours In Health,

Brian

Want an easier way to lose fat? The Silent Struggle: Why Losing Weight Is So Hard for Women Over 40

As we age, our bodies undergo a myriad of changes, and for women over 40, one of the most frustrating and emotional challenges can be losing weight. It's a silent struggle that many face, often feeling alone and without support, as the world around them seems to focus on the beauty and fitness of youth. But why is it so hard for women over 40 to lose weight? And why is this struggle so emotional? Firstly, let's talk about the physical changes that come with age. As women approach menopause, their estrogen levels drop, which can lead to a slower metabolism. This means that even if they're eating the same amount of food as they did in their 20s and 30s, they may still gain weight. Additionally, muscle mass decreases as we age, which further slows down metabolism, making it even harder to shed those stubborn pounds. But the challenges don't stop there. As women over 40 juggle work, family, and personal commitments, finding the time and energy to exercise
