Macro counting & calorie counting aren't all that different.
Even with macros, generally you'll try to stick to a set calorie count.
The key with both approaches is getting enough protein so the rest of those calories can do the required work for lean muscle growth.
But, protein aside, there are a few major differences between these two philosophies.
